TONYMOLY Tea Tree Mask Sheet: infos, ingredients and review

If you follow me on instagram (find me as @federicacimetti) already know that actually I’m testing TONYMOLY mask sheets. TONYMOLY is a Korean brand that has become popular throughout the world, both for makeup and for its skincare beauty products. Among the many best sellers products mask sheets are surely the most popular, there are different types to meet the most varied skin requirements and, moreover, mask sheets are much more comfortable than traditional masks, especially for what concern the application.

Unlike traditional ones, sheet masks are soaked in serum and individually packed; once opened is ready to be applied on the face and – after 20/30 – can be easily removed and thrown away, no need to rinse the skin.

Here on the blog I’ll post soon all the reviews of the TONYMOLY mask sheets, but today we start with my favorite, the Tea Tree Mask Sheet:

The Tea Tree Mask Sheet is indicated for irritated or inflamed skin. The Tea Tree extract soothes irritations, balances the ph of the skin and improves tone and texture, thanks to the presence of other ingredients, such as lemon, rosemary, thyme and jasmine extracts. The Tea Tree mask sheet has literally saved me the day before an important shooting and from that day I got that it was really perfect for my acne-prone skin, especially when is irritated. The skin of my cheek was very inflamed, with small bubbles: after only 30 minutes with the mask on redness was completely disappeared and inflammation have eased significantly. The Tea Tree mask has literally saved me!

The TONYMOLY Tea Tree Mask is a good product, but if you expect to read a natural INCI unfortunately I have to disappoint your expectations! Although there are no parabens and are several interesting natural ingredients, there are many chemical derivation products as well; some are shown as green (not harmful) but others are considered potentially dangerous for any allergies. For example, the Butylene Glycol is a very strong solvent and read it in second position hasn’t exactly excited me, as I don’t like when chemical softening products are used even when actually there would be more natural elements which would perform the same function effectively. Here is the complete INCI:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Glycereth-26, Panthenol Bis-Ethoxydiglycol Succinate, Allantoin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Chlorphenesin Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Tromethamine, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract 1,2-Hexanediol, Propanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil.
